Burn Prevention and Support Programs Offered by the Grossman Burn Center at West Hills

Burn Prevention

At West Hills Hospital & Medical Center, we understand that burn injuries can be a traumatic and frightening experience. That is why our Grossman Burn Center team is dedicated not only to the expert burn treatment, but also to burn prevention. As a part of the comprehensive services offered by our burn center , our healthcare team offers burn education programs to prevent burn injuries in all ages. A few of these programs are listed below.

  • Careful, That’s Hot! is a prevention program that, in partnership with the Children’s Burn Foundation, provides parents with more information about the main issues surrounding childhood burn injuries. The program also supplies many resources for the prevention of childhood burns.
  • Burn Prevention for Seniors is a program offered in partnership with the Circle of Care Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of burn survivors and their families. This program prioritizes the safety of older adults, reaching out to seniors and care professionals to improve awareness of common burn injuries.
  • Burn Education focusing on the Professional includes a variety of first aid and life support programs aimed at the medical professional.

The Grossman Burn Center also provides the West Hills community with many burn survivor support programs, offering patients the opportunities to share their similar experiences with one another. Our Burn Survivor Support Group is an excellent meeting place for adults and children, families and loved ones to provide loving support for one another. Grossman’s School Reentry Program utilizes the Phoenix Society’s “Journey Back” format to help children who have suffered from burn injuries to comfortably return to the classroom.

In addition to its world-wide reputation as a leader in the treatment of burn injuries, the Grossman Burn Center at West Hills Hospital is a nurturing, team-centered environment focused on the complete healing of body and mind.
